Heather Salerno, E-RYT-200, began teaching Hatha Yoga in the Spring of 2002 focusing on the philosophies of Ashtanga, YogaFit®, Kundalini, and Iyengar Yoga. She is a trained, educated, experienced, and warm-hearted instructor in yoga, dance, fitness, and tumbling. Heather's yoga, dance, and fitness education includes registration as a 200-Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, teacher training through Level III plus specialty classes from YogaFit®, Group Fitness Instructor training through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA), and Accreditation as a Level III Dance Instructor by the National Teacher's Association (NTA) for Country Western Dance. Additionally, Heather began teaching dance and tumbling in 1987, gaining experience and knowledge in body awareness and alignment which she applies in her yoga classes today.
Heather stresses in her classes a balance between strength and flexibility, building endurance, and developing self-awareness through precise movement, alignment, breath, and visualization. Classes include conscious breathing, warm-up with gentle movements and stretches, strength and heat building with flowing and holding postures, balancing postures, partial or full inversions, cool-down with stretches, and final relaxation/meditation.
